In Spain, the number of
tourists has incremented almost 20 million people, a 50 % in 10 years. From
this figure, 10,4 % are more than 64 years old.

91% are from the European
Union. This helps for the negotiation for agreements following the EU guidelines
in relation with the mobility of citizens within the EU.

The residents or pseudo residents (commuters) in Spain (people from abroad that
own a house, mostly 50 + or seniors) factor is developing a new market for services
that our platform offers. See www.turismo-salud.com
This makes also an innovative scenario in which sectors that never worked together
to implement a new product, need to cooperate for offering new services of quality
to a growing new group of European customers. (Cooperation between: real state,
hospitals, hotels, spa, banks, IT, etc…)
The number of houses owned
by EU citizens in Spain is 4,6 million (2007). Approximately, 30% in hands of
UK citizens, 20% of Germans, 19% of French, List was completed by Scandinavians
with 4%, Netherlands 4% and Italy 2%. The rest 21% are from other countries.
Spain is a good destination for investments, enjoying of a along experienced
tourism infrastructure.
We strongly believe that
this group due to the larger life expectancy, more mobility in EU, easiness
to find good and cheap transport means, will enlarge the niche market that is
now starting to request different services.
Also the EU is promoting
with different guidelines the harmonization and integration of the European
Health Insurance Card, which is already a real fact for short trips of European
citizens between border regions and cooperation between Private Sector.
All the above facts and
matters include the creation of new job positions in sectors that need to supply
the services and increase the Medical Tourism and the use of Ehealth tools available.
Our company and project
is the platform to supply and manage those services, and this is why we believe
we are innovative.
Spain is already a tourism
destination, and the models have evoluted towards more selective products, that
go from ‘sun and beach’, to rural tourism, culture, leisure, golf
gastronomy, meetings, events, and the latest is Health and Medical Tourism.
